11X Series
ERS-110 & 111
The AIBO ERS-110 & 111 were the first models of AIBO released to the public by Sony in 1999. They're known for their durability and typically hyper personalities.
They sport long, segmented tails and a fan on their back for active cooling.
The ERS-110 has four tail segments, a warmer silver color, and gray joints.
The ERS-111 has three tail segments, cool silver and black colors, and black joints.
Their only sensor is on their head, used for praising, scolding, and getting their attention.
Unlike Beetle, the ERS-111 in the photo, ERS-11X dogs have floppy ears with four segments that were held together by a rubber backing. This rubber has decayed, but the remaining plastic segments can be rebacked and reattached to the dog if desired. 3D printed alternatives also exist if the original pieces are missing.
This model is the only one to lack voice recognition, using tones from a remote instead for particular commands.
